BEIJING (Archyde.com) – Myanmar’s ambassador to China died suddenly in Kunming, southwestern China, on Thursday. Myanmar state media reported.
An obituary published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a state-run newspaper dated August 8 did not reveal the cause of death. Diplomatic sources in Beijing and Myanmar media reports in China said a heart attack was likely the cause.
The Myanmar Embassy in China was not immediately available for comment.
It is the fourth Chinese ambassador to die in a year. The German ambassador died in September last year, less than two weeks following taking office, and the Ukrainian ambassador died in February this year during or shortly following a visit to the Beijing Winter Olympics. In April, the Philippine ambassador died in quarantine in Anhui province.
