According to British intelligence, the war in Ukraine is about to enter a new phase

It is almost certain that Russian forces will regroup in southern Ukraine, in preparation for a counter-offensive or a possible assault, the British Ministry of Defense said on Twitter.

Long convoys of Russian weapons continue to move away from the Donbass region and head towards the southwest, where Kherson, Odessa and Crimea are located.

Battalion tactical groups of nearly 1,000 men have been deployed in Crimea and their presence is more than likely intended to support Russian troops in the Kherson region, according to the Defense Intelligence update.

The Ministry of Defense also explains that “Ukrainian forces are increasingly targeting bridges, ammunition depots and rail links in the southern regions, including the strategically important rail spur that connects Kherson to Russian-occupied Crimea. They use with almost total certainty, according to Defense Intelligence, a combination of blocking, degrading, destroying and disrupting effects in order to try to affect the Russians’ ability to resupply logistically“.

Intelligence sources conclude with the announcement “heaviest fighting likely to move to approximately 350 kilometer long front line stretching southwest from Zaporizhzhia to Kherson“.
