338 passengers stranded… Alternative flight scheduled to be boarded 21 hours later than scheduled
An Asiana Airlines flight, scheduled for Incheon on the 6th from Bangkok, Thailand, might not take off due to engine failure.
According to Asiana Airlines, take-off of Asiana Airlines flight OZ742, which was regarding to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand at 1:10 am (local time) for Incheon International Airport, was suspended due to engine failure.
Asiana Airlines initially informed passengers that it would be delayed by regarding 5 hours, but following that, maintenance was not completed, so the flight was canceled and an alternative flight was introduced.
There were 338 passengers on the plane, and 39 of them voluntarily ‘getted off’ (getting off the plane) saying they would not take the plane.
Asiana Airlines said that it provided the remaining 299 passengers with accommodations at local hotels so they might rest.
They are scheduled to return home on an alternate flight at 10 pm local time.
An Asiana Airlines official said, “This was an unavoidable measure for safety and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
