Dubai > Authorities warn once morest misuse of VPN in UAE. Under Article 10 of the UAE Cyber Law, people who misuse VPNs face a fine of between Dh500,000 and Dh2 million and imprisonment. A reminder that unauthorized VPN use is punishable by increasing use of VPN for dating, gambling, porn site visits, and drug addiction.
Accessing prohibited websites by masking your IP address using a VPN is a serious offense under the UAE Cyber Law. Using VPN (Virtual Private Network) makes it possible to access many online areas like banned sites, porn websites, gambling, dating, WhatsApp calls and video calls.
Nord Security Data figures that the number of VPN users in the UAE has increased by 36%. Companies, institutions and banks are allowed to use VPN for internal purposes as per the guidelines of the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority and the Government. But many people use VPN illegally to access banned sites and make audio and video calls.
