A net result of more than 937 MDH in 2021

The net result of Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) stood at nearly 937.03 million dirhams (MDH) at the end of 2021, down 44% compared to the previous year, according to the annual report. of the Central Bank on the economic, monetary and financial situation.

This decline mainly reflects several developments, namely a 34% contraction in the result of foreign exchange reserve management operations to more than 1.58 billion dirhams (MMDH), mainly linked to that of net bond income to more than 1 .64 billion dirhams (-32%), explains the report.

It is also a 27% decline in the result of monetary policy operations to more than 1.26 billion dirhams, explained by the drop in the average outstanding balance of loans to banks, following the alleviation of the liquidity deficit and by the effect, over a full year, of the reduction in the key rate, notes the Central Bank.
And to specify that this decline also reflects a 31% increase in the result of other operations to more than 849.46 MDH, mainly reflecting that of sales of secure documents (+ 54%) and net exchange commissions (+ 6%). . General operating expenses increased slightly by 2% to more than 1.92 billion dirhams, resulting from the increase in operating expenses (+2%).
