People’s Liberation Army drones fly over Kinmentai for the first time

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan has aggravated the situation in the Taiwan Strait. On the eve of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s large-scale military exercise around Taiwan on Thursday (4th), a drone was dispatched to fly over Kinmen and Beiding Island in the middle of the night on Wednesday (3rd). This is the first time that a PLA drone has been spotted in Kinmen.

The Kinmen Defense Command of the Taiwan Army said on Thursday that unidentified aircraft were seen flying over the Kinmen and Beiding areas on Wednesday night, which were believed to be drones following comparison and analysis. The troops followed standard operating procedures, fired signal flares to warn them to leave, maintained combat readiness and implemented concealment measures.

The Kinmen Defense Command pointed out that the use of joint intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance methods in the defense zone can fully grasp the surrounding dynamics, and the camouflage of the camp, facilities and positions are implemented in accordance with regulations, and they are able to respond immediately in case of emergencies. On the 28th of last month, the People’s Liberation Army twice sent drones to harass Matsu.
