NCsoft held a special broadcast today (the 5th) through Lineage 2M’s official YouTube channel to reveal the development team’s position on the issues related to the promotion BJ in Lineage 2M and the truck protests that occurred as a result.
Lineage 2M’s truck protest was held from 9 am to 6 pm today near NCsoft’s office building. The user who led the protest explained that it was done as a protest to explain honestly regarding the allegations that NCsoft is providing behind-the-scenes advertisements and promotions to certain BJs and streamers. In addition, when users inquired in April, NCsoft replied that Lineage 2M did not have promotional BJs and streamers.
In this case, if the Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Sang-heon inquired to the Fair Trade Commission and did not disclose that he received a promotion fee, it might be a deceptive display and advertisement. Deceptive refers to in a way that conceals or minimizes facts. It is a violation of Article 3, Paragraph 1, Item 2 of the Labeling and archyde news Act.
In relation to these matters, NCsoft PD Hyung-soo Hyung-soo, head of department Lee Hak-joo, and general manager Baek Seung-wook, who is in charge of development of Lineage 2M, appeared on the broadcast and explained the promotion issues. Director Baek Seung-wook said, “Unlike Lineage W, Lineage 2M has no official promotion creator in the past or present.” In addition, regarding the promotion creator, he added, “We will sponsor broadcast or upload costs, and Lineage 2M has not paid any related requests or expenses to any creators,” he added.
It also explained the case of acknowledgment of the number of Lineage 2M broadcasts by some creators raised by users. Director Baek Seung-wook said, “It is true that at the time of the Lineage W promotion contract, the broadcasting was allowed to a minimum at the request of those who voluntarily broadcast Lineage 2M. Rather, it was to make it continue for fear that Lineage 2M users’ favorite broadcasts would be interrupted or reduced due to the Lineage W broadcast.”
Director Baek Seung-wook, who repeatedly stated that the permission to broadcast Lineage 2M was a consideration for users who have been watching Lineage 2M for a long time. he emphasized. However, he said, “I overlooked the fact that broadcast recognition can be accepted as Lineage 2M’s BJ promotion.”
