They rule out death from hemorrhagic fever of a medical student in Barinas

Barinas.- After the information of the death of a medical student at the Francisco de Miranda University in Barinas due to hemorrhagic fever was disseminated, the Single Health Authority ruled out this thesis because it had no epidemiological link that caused its contamination with this disease.

Dr. Torres reported that despite having investigated the environment of the deceased, if he made trips, walks and other activities that might lead to contagion and did not find these links, the samples taken were sent to the National Institute of Hygiene for evaluation.

The Single Health Authority in Barinas specified that the cases of guanarito fever, as this deadly pathology transmitted by urine and feces of rats is also known, is potentially located in the rural areas of the municipalities of Sosa, Rojas and Obispos de Barines.

Additionally, he mentioned the case of five medical students who are currently under medical care, who showed leptospirosis infections, according to an examination carried out in a private laboratory, they would also have sent the samples to the National Institute of Hygiene, but they did not make up the circle of the deceased either.
