Saudi Arabia bids to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games in Trogina

On Wednesday, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced that it had submitted a request to the Olympic Council of Asia, expressing Saudi Arabia’s desire to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games in “Trogina” in Neom.

The request included a presentation of the ambitious vision of Saudi Arabia, which will support Trogina to host the largest sports event in the Asian winter, during which more than 32 Asian countries are expected to participate in the most prominent winter competitions by providing a future structure that combines modern technology and preservation of the picturesque nature that distinguishes it as the first country in the West of the continent It is preparing to host this event following it was hosted by Japan, China, South Korea and Kazakhstan starting in 1986.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, head of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, revealed, “The request to host the Asian Winter Games is an affirmation of the geographical and environmental diversity and natural wealth that the Kingdom enjoys and wants to share with the world.”

It is noteworthy that the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia will meet in Cambodia at the beginning of next October, prior to the convening of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia on October 4, which is considered the supreme body for approving decisions to grant hosting rights for the Asian Games of various names.
