Buying tofu: That’s what matters
Whether silken tofu, natural tofu or smoked tofu – the range in the supermarket is now huge. But which type of tofu is right for which type of preparation? We give a quick overview:
- Naturtofu:
One of the classics. Rather bland in taste, it can be wonderfully spiced up and spiced up with various marinades. Tip: So that the soy block can absorb the sauce well, you should squeeze it out beforehand. - smoked tofu:
In contrast to natural tofu, smoked tofu is more aromatic and spicier. Therefore, you can fry it directly or eat it raw. Of course you can also season and marinate it. - Seidentofu:
Compared to the other varieties, silken tofu has a higher liquid content. For this reason, the creamy tofu can be used excellently for sweet dishes and sauces.
