U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan, attracting international attention. The Taichung City Council held a regular meeting today to report on the Taichung General Security Inspection Project. City Councilman Yang Zhengzhong pointed out that there would be no public security without national security. He predicted that security incidents in Taichung City would emerge one following another. In this regard, Police Chief Cai Cangbai said that the current situation is self-sufficient, causing an uproar.
Yang Zhengzhong, a member of the Nationalist Party of Taichung City, said that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is of international concern. Half of the people in Taiwan are concerned regarding whether there is a military conflict between the two sides of the strait. There are many gun cases.
Yang Zhengzhong asked Cai Cangbai, “Are you ready?” Will the police station investigate Pelosi’s inappropriate remarks? When Cai Cangbai answered the question, he was in a situation of seeking more happiness from himself, which caused an uproar in the audience.
In the followingnoon, DPP-member Taichung City Councillors Zheng Gongjin and Zhang Yaozhong also questioned this issue. They believed that Cai Cangbai, as the police chief, faced the threat of force from the other side and asked the people to seek their own happiness, which was outrageous.
Cai Cangbai explained that seeking more happiness is to hope that the police will do their jobs well in their respective positions, and Taiwanese society will be safe.
