An international symposium works on identity representations in Lomé

The Confucius Institute, on the university campus of Lomé, hosts an international symposium on “Identity representations of the body in literature “. Organized by the Research Laboratory on African and Francophone Literature (LaRLAF) of the University of Lomé, this three-day meeting reflects the real desires of the academic world to move towards more cohesion between research structures and skills. expanded teacher-researchers.

About sixty teacher-researchers from several universities: Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Cameroon, France, etc., have been taking part, since yesterday, in Lomé, until tomorrow, in a colloquium on the Identity representations of the body in literature “. These participants share their thoughts and especially the results of their research work on the subject with their colleagues from Togo. According to the organizers, these are moments of capacity building for researchers, in order to better equip them for the challenges of a world in full transformation. Could it be otherwise when the concern for quality becomes a determining parameter in the classification of research structures.

The Lomé symposium therefore constitutes a crossroads of decisive reflections for the future of societies. Several axes on the chosen theme will raise questions about the relationship to the body, to sexuality and therefore to identity.

The Research Laboratory on African and Francophone Literature (LaRLAF) was created five (5) years ago. It is intended to be a laboratory for the emergence, emulation, fusion and complementarity of skills. It is at its second international conference, after that of 2015.
