The Eastern Health Directorate confirmed the provision of free medical and health care services to 108,650 women as part of the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus, and early examination of diseases transmitted from mother to fetus by providing free treatment and health care.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Khaled Fawzy, indicated that a medical examination was signed and the necessary examinations were conducted for a number of 108,650 pregnant women within the presidential initiative to care for maternal and fetal health, which was launched since December 2020 in implementation of the presidential initiative 100 Million Seha with the aim of reaching a healthy generation of children Good and free of diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and reduce the deaths caused by these diseases.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health explained that the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus targets pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, to detect diseases that may affect the health of the fetus and prevent its transmission from the mother to the fetus, in addition to detecting sugar and pressure for pregnant women, as it targets a medical examination. For 1507,736 pregnant women, both Egyptian and non-Egyptian, in various villages and cities of the governorate, over the age of 18, between education, awareness and medical examination, through 358 medical teams trained in examination work, including “doctors, nurses, data entryists, and rural pioneers.”
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health added that follow-up and treatment services are provided through medical centers and health units in the governorate, and those who are discovered to be infected are directed and referred to receive the necessary evaluation and treatment in referral hospitals specified in the governorate, in addition to activating and improving the quality of routine services provided within the protocol for the care of pregnant women through maternal and child care services. , stressing the readiness of medical clinics, the privacy of examination places, the availability of medical supplies, confidentiality of results, good reception and dealing with women hesitating on the presidential initiative.
