On Wednesday morning, a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet et Violet unveiled several new features that we will be able to explore soon on Nintendo Switch.

A lot of information was transmitted during the presentation which took place on August 3rd. We’ve sorted that out for you, so here’s what’s new.
Legendary Mounts
One of the main aspects that Pokemon Purple et Scarlet has to offer is exploration in an open world. As Arceus, players will be able to wander through vast lands in order to fight and capture as many creatures as possible. To do this, Game Freak has made available to trainers Koraidon and Miraidon, the two legendary Pokémon of the games, which will serve as mounts.
These creatures can fly, sail on water, or transform into a motorcycle on land, allowing players to scale mountains, traverse grassy plains, and soar through the skies.
New Pokemon
Previously, Game Freak featured a handful of new Pokemonincluding new Pokémon from departure Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. We also got to know Smoliv, Lechonk and Pawmi, as well as the two new legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon.
In Wednesday’s presentation, we got to know Cetitan (Balbalèze), Fidough (Potato) et Wooper of Paldea (Axolotus).

Treasure hunt
We were given a taste of the adventure that awaits players. In Scarlet et Violet, a treasure hunt is planned and includes several activities. One of three adventures has been revealed: trainers who venture into Paldea will first be able to face 8 Gym Leaders, which marks the return of gyms. Two other adventures have been mentioned, but the nature of these is not known.
New Ultimate Form
A new mechanic unique to Gen 9 was introduced: Pokemon Terastal. This new phenomenon causes creatures to crystallize, giving their stats a boost.
The Terastallize is therefore not only aesthetic, but can modify the strength and type of the Pokémon. Each Pokémon has its own type Tera, and there are also rare types to discover! Eevee, for example, has several types to find, which makes hunting even more interesting.
The return of Raid Battles
Finally, we already knew that we might play Violet et Scarlet in multiplayer, but Game Freak has confirmed the return of Raid Battleswhich is likely to make many happy.
After the Gigantamaxit’s the turn of Terastallize to take the place of Raid Battles. Thus, during our fights, the opposing Pokémon will use this new combat mechanic. It will therefore be possible to find a host of Pokémon with forms Tera unique in these 4-player battles.
The output of Pokemon Purple et Scarlet is still scheduled for November 18, 2022 on Nintendo Switch, and you can already pre-order your copy in advance.
