Pelosi leaves Taiwan after a visit that China considered a violation of its sovereignty

And the Chinese newspaper, “China Morning Post” reported today, Wednesday, that the country’s General Administration of Customs has stopped importing some fish and fruits from Taiwan due to the repeated discovery of the Corona virus on packaging materials.

For its part, the customs explained that it had stopped importing citrus from Taiwan due to the excess residues of two types of pesticides, according to the reports.

The new trade restrictions came just hours following Pelosi arrived in Taiwan for the first visit by a US House speaker since 1997, prompting China to announce a series of live-fire military exercises in the waters around the island from August 4-7.

Yesterday, the General Administration of Customs of China suddenly announced the suspension of imports from more than 100 Taiwanese food factories to China, which was interpreted as Chinese retaliation for Taiwan’s welcome to visit US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.
