U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who made a surprise visit to Taiwan despite opposition from China, is reported to have discussed plans to expand investment in the U.S. with Liu De-yin, chairman of Taiwan’s TSMC, the world’s largest foundry (semiconductor consignment production) on the 3rd. The luncheon hosted by President Tsai Ing-wen was attended by industry representatives including TSMC founder Zhang Zhongmou.
