Switzerland has a French national who has been on the run for eleven years on Tuesday delivered to France. As “The morning» writes, this is Camille’s mother. Priscilla M. fled her homeland with her then five-year-old daughter in 2011, in a legal dispute with her ex-husband. The mother had settled with the child in the canton of Vaud to avoid a criminal conviction. On February 22, however, the fugitive was found in the Morges region – she was finally identified through a banal traffic check.
The French judiciary had sentenced the woman to six years in prison without parole for child abduction and defamation. Since the first judgment has already expired, the convicted Priscilla M. still has five years to serve.
Camille doesn’t want to see her father
Camille’s mother, who has been in custody in La Tuilière prison in Lonay VD for more than five months since the arrest, has now been handed over to the French authorities. But her daughter remains in Switzerland: in mid-March, the magistrate’s court in Morges ordered that the girl should not be allowed to leave the country for the time being, Camille goes to school in Morges.
Since she was found, her father Alain Chauvet, who lives near Paris, has still not been allowed to contact her, except through letters he wrote her and which were forwarded to her. As “24 hours» reported, the teenager told the court that she did not want to meet her father, nor did she want to return to France with him. Camille was placed under guardianship.
“She was taught to lie”
Camille’s father, a military engineer, spoke to the French broadcaster in an interview last March BFM TV of a “religious and sectarian influence” in which his daughter was trapped for years: “She was taught to lie. She was taught to avoid the police. Imagine raising a child. She was taught everything not to do,” Chauvet said.
Priscilla M. and her ex-husband separated in 2008 and shared custody of Camille for three years before M. disappeared with their daughter.
