‘Hansan: The Appearance of the Dragon’, which depicts Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s Battle of Hansan, surpassed 3 million cumulative audiences in just 8 days following its release.
According to the integrated computer network of the Film Promotion Committee on the 3rd, ‘Hansan’ took the top spot in the entertainment industry for 7 days in a row, and the cumulative number of viewers exceeded 3 million in 8 days.
As a result, ‘Hansan’ became the second Korean film to surpass 3 million viewers following ‘Crime City 2’ among Korean films released this year.
‘Hansan’, a sequel to ‘Myeongryang’ (2013), depicts the Battle of Hansan in July 1592, when the Joseon naval forces defeated the Japanese in the sea off Hansando.
Director Kim Han-min took charge of directing following the previous film ‘Myeongryang’, and actors Park Hae-il, Byun Yo-han, Kim Hyang-gi, Kim Seong-gyu, and Kim Seong-gyun appeared.
