In Lost Ark comes today, August 3rd, the weekly update. This week’s patch focuses on continuing to fight once morest Real Money Trading (RMT) and bots. This means you can no longer use gold as quickly. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What’s in the update? This week is the second update following a big monthly patch. As usual, the patch is a bit smaller than the major feature updates. However, there are good changes to continue fighting the bots.
In this train, the so-called “withheld funds” are introduced. This is a system that keeps your gold from different sources for 3 full days. First and foremost, this affects the gold that you get from the relationship system, i.e. from good relationships with NPCs.
So that bots can no longer flood the market with this, you may only use the gold to a very limited extent in the future and not in the following situations:
- Withheld funds cannot be mailed
- No deductions of retained funds are possible upon acceptance of the request for payment
- Cannot be used for 1:1 trading
- Cannot be used in the auction house
- Cannot be used in the marketplace
- Cannot be used in loot auctions

New characters don’t have it that easy anymore when they push into the endgame
Update on the power passes: A similar restriction comes with the update for the power passes, which you can buy with money in the shop. These push your characters directly to a certain level in the endgame. Exactly which one depends on the specific pass used.
Any gold earned on a character within 72 hours of using such a Power Pass also falls under retained funds and can only be partially used.
However, Lost Ark also points out that the power passes in the shop are still not available for purchase. Today’s patch won’t change anything either. Another update will follow later in the week.
Lost Ark will be offline for 4 hours today, August 3rd
How long is the server status offline? As usual, the update starts at 9:00 a.m. German time. At this time the game servers will be shut down and will remain down for an estimated 4 hours this week.
So if everything goes according to plan the servers will be back online by 13:00 and you can go back to Arkesia. We will of course keep you informed of any changes and will update this article when the servers are back online.
You shouldn’t expect too much of a download on Steam either, since the changes are comparatively small.
