China said Tuesday that the United States will “pay the price” if Senate President Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, several Chinese warplanes flew near the “middle line” separating China and Taiwan in the fjord, on Tuesday morning, while Chinese warships remained close to this line.
These developments come with the escalation of tension between Washington and Beijing, following news of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s readiness to visit Taiwan, on Tuesday, which China considered an interference in its internal affairs, as it considers Taiwan an integral part of its territory.
While the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense said, on Tuesday, that it has a full range of military activities near Taiwan and will deploy its forces appropriately in response to potential threats, in reference to the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which China vows to take military measures once morest.
