The Democratic Party of Korea raised a voice that the National Assembly Steering Committee should be held to closely examine the process of the relocation of the presidential office to Yongsan and the suspicion of a ‘dark non-disclosure contract’ for the construction of the presidential residence.

At today’s party floor countermeasures meeting, floor leader Park Hong-geun referred to a media report that a company that was in charge of sponsoring when Kim Gun-hee operated and exhibited Kobana contents in the past won a private contract for the construction of the presidential residence, and said, “We need to normalize the operation committee to receive the presidential office’s business report,” he said.

“The truth of the allegations related to the relocation of the presidential office should be thoroughly disclosed,” said floor leader Park.

Kim Seong-hwan, chairman of the policy committee, also held a press conference and said, “The fact that Mrs. Kim Gun-hee entrusted the construction of the official residence to her sponsor in the past under a private contract is a much bigger issue than the last time she entrusted the construction of the presidential office.” Still, I think it’s too much of a problem to use this kind of public power for private gain.”

He also added that Kookmin University concluded that Mrs. Kim’s thesis was not plagiarism, saying, “Kookmin University has given an indulgence.” .
