Muscat: Car accident in Haima, Oman. According to a statement issued by the General Directorate of Health Services in Al Wusta Governorate, eight accident cases were received in the emergency department of Haimah Hospital. According to the statement, two people died and six people were injured. One of the injured is in critical condition.

An expatriate was fined for selling tobacco products illegally in Oman
Muscat: An expatriate caught for trading and selling tobacco products in Oman has been fined one thousand riyals. He was arrested from Sur Wilayat in Southern Al Sharqia Governorate. He was officially selling tobacco products belonging to the Panmasala category.
The expatriate worker was arrested by the Consumer Protection Department of South Al Sharqia Governorate. The illegal activities were carried out in connection with the ready-made clothing business in which he was doing business. The authorities got confidential information that he was selling tobacco products through another small shop which was operating behind his shop.
Tobacco products in the form of pan masala, known by various names and sold under various brand names, are banned in Oman. After receiving information that these were being sold illegally, officials reached the spot and raided the shop and the storage center. Seized tobacco products were handed over to special units for destruction. A fine of 1000 riyals was imposed on the shop owner who violated the law.
Officials of the Consumer Protection Authority have informed that they will take legal action once morest all products that endanger the health and safety of consumers and if they are found, legal action will be taken. The public has also been advised to report any kind of violations in the market to the Consumer Protection Department through various channels.

Three expatriates die in landslide at work site in Oman; One person was injured
Muscat: Two expatriates died in a landslide in Oman. One person was injured. The incident took place in Bidbid, Al Dakhiliya Governorate. According to local media reports, the accident occurred at the working site of a company.
As soon as the information regarding the accident was received, rescue workers from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Department of Al Dakhiliya Governorate arrived at the place, according to the notice released by the Civil Defense. The earth fell on top of the workers who were working. A statement from the Civil Defense stated that three people were pulled out of the accident site.
