A new adventure game regarding the story of an office worker who does not suffer from depression is released through Steam. The production team said that they wanted to increase the understanding of depression through this.
On July 31st, Hong Kong indie game developer Firepillar2 opened the official page for Steam’s new adventure game ‘Room of Depression’. As the title implies, ‘Room of Depression’, it deals with the daily life of ‘Moon’, an office worker suffering from depression.
‘Moon’ is an office worker living in an ordinary city, but her life is not ordinary. ‘Moon’ suffers from depression, and ordinary daily life feels unfamiliar. This is also reflected in the play. While working, ‘worthless’, ‘meaningless’, and ‘loneliness’ float up like speech bubbles, so it is difficult to concentrate, and it is difficult to tell coworkers that they are ‘unhappy’ and pretends to be okay.
Players can experience the daily life of ‘Moon’ through the game, and events large and small in the game have different effects on the protagonist. Through the official Steam page, the creators said, “This game allows you to step into the world of people suffering from depression and understand how to properly treat people with depression.” to experience it,” he explained.
‘Room of Depression’ supports English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, and the release date has not been announced yet. Meanwhile, the production company Firepillar 2 has released a rogue-like game ‘Siege of Dungeon’, a tower defense game ‘Craft of Abyss’, and single strategy games ‘Dessert Tank’ and ‘Age of Legion’ on Steam.
