Kozhikode: Heavy rain continues in various parts of the state. Red alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Idukki districts on Tuesday. The body of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who went missing in a waterlogged road in Kannur, has been recovered. The body of Riyaz, who went missing following being swept away by the current in Kottayam, was also found. Water pond formed in Kottayam Palanagaram. According to the Central Meteorological Department, widespread rains and isolated heavy rains (64.5 mm-115.5 mm) are likely in Kerala from today to August 5. The Central Meteorological Department has also informed that there is a possibility of isolated very heavy or extremely heavy rains (more than 204 mm) during the days from today to August 4.
