how to activate the hidden functions of the photo gallery of your smartphone?

Activate the Labs menu in the Photo Gallery application of Samsung smartphones to enjoy many hidden functions.

You may not know it, but Samsung has hidden in some of its applications a secret menu called Galaxy Labs. It gives access to experimental features, unofficial, but tested internally by the Korean manufacturer. This is the case, for example, of the Gallery application which allows you to manage the photos taken with your smartphone. The photo library of your Galaxy smartphone has a hidden menu, Gallery Labs, disabled by default.

Once the Gallery Labs menu is enabled, it should appear alongside the other menus present in the Gallery app settings. You will then be able to use and implement new features of your Samsung smartphone’s photo library, and even improve certain aspects of it. Note, however, that each modification made from this menu requires that your smartphone be restarted. Here’s how to take advantage of it.

1. Go to Gallery settings

Start by opening the Gallery app on your Samsung Galaxy. Press the main menu represented by three superimposed lines, at the bottom right of the screen. Then enter the Settings from the Gallery.

You will then have access to new unpublished functionalities which should significantly improve the use of the Gallery on your smartphone. There you will find, for example, an option to activate a “filmstrip” view (filmstrip in English) to more easily navigate through a video that is playing. You can also choose to activate an option to obtain more details in the EXIF data of your photos. Gallery Labs will also allow you to view the amount of storage used by items you’ve deleted from Gallery (but not Trash), or choose to automatically play the next video.
