Kenya has the second highest score in Africa for airport safety, according to the latest ranking from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Following its last inspections at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and Moi International Airport in Mombasa in May 2022, ICAO awarded Kenya a score of 91.7%, the highest on record in East and Central Africa. This score places Kenya second on the continent, following South Africa.
“This is a historic achievement for Kenya, which has successfully met the target set by ICAO in the current Global Aviation Security Plan,” which wants all members to achieve effective implementation by more than 90% by 2030, said the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
