Directors who ruled the world of Malayalam cinema in the 2000s. The creators of films that nurtured actors like Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi and cemented their stardom. That was Shaji Kailas and Joshi.

When it was said that the old mass directors of Malayalam are coming back, many ridiculed them as outdated. Katuva and Pappan reached the theaters amid rumors that there were no people to watch Malayalam movies. Both the films achieved the biggest opening collection in the career of Prithviraj and Suresh Gopi. Got good word of mouth publicity and Tiger and Papen.

Shaji Kailas Katuva was made by renewing everything that was in the mass movies released in Malayalam in the past. While the mass dialogues, action and music were excellent, the Tiger audience was celebrating.

Jinu V. Abraham and R.J. Shaan’s scripts were also in the old model. But the making of Shaji Kailas and Joshi proved that they are updated in the direction.

However, both the directors made their comeback to critical acclaim.
