he misled his colleagues when they asked questions about him…

According to the daily, three cannabis plantations were discovered during the investigation, including one below the policeman’s apartment, but the prosecution did not confirm this precision.

Investigators from the Brussels-Midi police zone carried out a series of searches in Brussels and several other places earlier this week, according to Het Nieuwsblad. They discovered three cannabis plantations below their colleague’s apartment and at two other addresses, for a total of around 100 plants. Investigators also reportedly found tens of thousands of euros in cash.

The suspected police officer, VT, along with three other suspects, have been arrested. They were “placed under an arrest warrant by the investigating judge as part of a judicial investigation into the sale of narcotics, more specifically cannabis,” said the Brussels prosecutor’s office. “Several investigative duties are still in progress,” he added. The Brussels-Midi police zone clarified that the police officer in question has been suspended. The four suspects will appear before the council chambers on Friday. Their attorneys said they won’t comment.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, the first suspicions appeared concerning VT, following he went to the Netherlands in a service vehicle and with his service weapon, to pick up relatives. According to the daily, he would have deliberately misled his colleagues when he realized that they were on the trail of the drug network of which he might be a part.
