Mahabalipuram (Chennai): India continues its winning streak in the third round of the Chess Olympiad. In the open and women’s categories, three teams of the hosts won for the third day in a row. In the open, A team beat Greece 3-1, B beat Switzerland 4-0 and C beat Iceland 3-1.

In women, A defeated England by 3-1, B by the same score once morest Indonesia and C by 2.5-1.5 once morest Austria. In the Open, America, the top seed, defeated Georgia 3-1 and won a consecutive victory. Meanwhile, the American women’s team suffered a surprise loss to Mongolia.
