Al-Marsad newspaper: Gunmen stormed a song filming site near a small town in South Africa, and raped eight young women who were participating in the filming. This horrific crime prompted the country’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, to comment on the event.
South African Police Minister Becky Seely said, according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse, Saturday, that three of regarding 20 suspects had been arrested so far in the wake of the attack, which took place Thursday in the suburbs of Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.
He told reporters that the gang attacked the work team, while its members were preparing the equipment and preparing the decoration to start filming.
He pointed out that the young women who were attacked ranged between 18 and 35 years old, pointing out that one of them was raped by 10 men, while another faced rape by 8 men. The men of the work team were also attacked, as they were stripped of their clothes and belongings.
“It appears that the suspects are foreigners, specifically illegal miners,” Selye told reporters on the sidelines of a political conference in Johannesburg, which was being held by the ruling African National Congress.
