The discount of 20 euro cents per liter of fuel will be applied in mainland France, but also in Corsica and overseas, indicated the Journal du Dimanche (JDD).
This Friday, TotalEnergies told the national newspaper that the company “is ready to practice the discount in the DOM TOM in consultation with the local authorities”.
In Martinique and Guadeloupe, this discount of 20 cents should in principle be added to the discount of 15 cents from the government in force until August 31.
Parliament should increase the state discount to 30 euro cents in September and October, then increase to 10 in November and 10 in December.
Last week the French tanker announced the application of a discount of 20 euro cents per liter of fuel between September and November, and 10 euro cents per liter until December, and this, “in all its stations in France”. The press release did not specify whether the Overseas Territories and Corsica were concerned. So it’s done.
However, it remains to be clarified whether the calendar will be identical to that of France.
As a reminder, Total Energies generated a net profit of 5.7 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2022, thanks to the rise in energy prices.
