A few months ago, Stéphane Leroux wrote that the odds of seeing the Acadie-Bathurst Titan move to the Montreal area (on the South Shore) were getting bigger and bigger.
And obviously, the file becomes more and more concrete.
Steve Leal, who is the owner of Fix Auto, has been approached for several months to bring a team to the Longueuil area in a new arena that is to be built.
I say Longueuil, but right now, Leal is looking for a city that would like to fund the construction or upgrade of an arena. We are talking regarding an arena with approximately 3,000 seats on the South Shore (Boucherville, Chambly, Châteauguay, Longueuil, Saint-Constant, Saint-Hyacinthe, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Sainte-Julie) or in Montreal as such.

What has changed is that the project seems to be more and more concrete. The sale of the Titan, conditional on a move to the South Shore, would be almost official at this time.
Even if in Bathurst, we continue to say that the plans are not decided and that the club should remain in New Brunswick, nothing suggests that at this moment, the survival of the Titan in the Baie des Chaleurs is assured.
After all, Fix Auto has been on the lobbyists registry for two weeks now.

Hockey has never lifted in Bathurst. The club, which is obviously expected to move the day an arena is ready in the corner of Montreal, won a Memorial Cup, but never managed to draw crowds consistently.
To be continued, therefore, but the carrots seem cooked for the Titan in the Maritimes. A return close to its roots (the club was founded in Laval) seems increasingly imminent.
