One thing is certain, several hopefuls from the Montreal club will take part in the event.
The Habs announced the team’s presence at the rookie tournament on Thursday, noting that the tournament will feature prospects from four other NHL clubs: Buffalo Sabers, New Jersey Devils, the Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Each team will play three games.
Among the players of the Canadian who should be there, in addition to Slafkovsky, it is necessary in particular to look towards certain players who took part, earlier this month, in the development camp of the team in Brossard. Owen Beck, Sean Farrell, Emil Heineman, Ty Smilanic, Filip Mesar, Rhett Pitlick, Joshua Roy and Luke Tuch were among the forwards. In Brossard on September 14
The team’s rookie camp will begin on Wednesday, September 14, as players report to the Brossard training complex to undergo medical and physical testing. The next day, the hopefuls of the Canadian will play a first match, in Buffalo, once morest the rookies of the Sabres. The Laval Rocket coaching staff, led by Jean-François Houle, will assume responsibility for games and practices. After the Sabers, the CH will face the Devils and Senators rookies on September 16 and 18 respectively.
All games will be played at the Sabres’ practice facility, the LECOM Harborcenter, which is attached to their main rink at the KeyBank Center.
After this rookie tournament, remember that the Canadian will have eight preseason games to play, starting September 26. The club will open its preseason schedule by hosting the Devils in Montreal.
