While Apple is still in the background regarding the famous metaverse revolution, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, believes that the Apple brand is an opponent to be taken seriously.
According to an inside source, during a meeting, the CEO of Facebook said that the company would engage in a “philosophical battle” in the construction of the future metaverse.
According to Mark Zukerberg, Apple represents a competitor, even an obstacle, for the facebook metaverse. Indeed, the approach of the two brands to make the virtual 3D world of tomorrow might be totally different.
Thus, the CEO would have told his employees that the company is in direct competition with Apple, although the Apple brand has still not released anything related to the metaverse. Are we to understand that Apple is already developing their vision of the metaverse internally?
As we know, Apple has always stood out in the way of developing its products. His nonconformity and minimalism have made the brand what it is today, namely a leader in the marketing of technological products. The company seems to have the recipe for creating almost addictive products for the general public…
Although Apple does not aim to develop a large-scale social network, we know that the brand is working on a virtual reality headset. What Zuckerberg mainly fears is therefore the subject of the interoperability of his metaverse. Apple tends more and more towards its self-sufficiency, as a result, the brand develops its own standards, in particular through components made by, and for, its products. Thus, it is very likely that the Horizon World metaverse will not be welcome on the Apple brand’s future VR headset.
For this reason, the CEO explains: “It is a competition of philosophies and ideas, where they believe that by doing everything themselves and integrating tightly, they create a better customer experience. »
An obstacle for Meta which has just signed an agreement on the interoperability of the metaverse with a large number of companies in June during the Open Standards Forum. This massive partnership aims to build the standards of the virtual world of tomorrow, by agreeing on several technical standards.
Among this alliance, there are several giants such as:
- Meta (Facebook),
- Microsoft
- Adobe
- Ali Baba
- Epic Games
- Nvidia
- IKEA
- Huawei
Therefore, the meta CEO considers that by producing their own standards, Apple goes once morest the idea of creating a “much broad ecosystem”, open to all companies.
This debate regarding interoperability seems to be in its infancy since the metaverse that users are promised is intended to be a true replica of reality in a 3D environment, so if there are several unique metaverses not communicating with each other, the bet of these giants is lost in advance.
