The food check paid this summer, the amount turns heads

For several years now, the purchasing power of the French has only been declining. To help them, Emmanuel Macron promised during his campaign setting up a food voucher. And recently, the amount was revealed and it is simply mind-blowing!

A food check why?

It has now been several years since the purchasing power of the French continues to decline. They find it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. And to attract votes during the Presidential election, Emmanuel Macron launched the idea of a food voucher.

Its goal is to help people with income the weakest. This food check will help them run errands. If the idea has something to seduce, Michel-Édouard Leclerc, boss of the supermarket group reacted to this announcement. He stated “What would be a shame is that we make food checks for the French, which are spent in the most expensive shops”.

He then added “It’s a shame, if we make a food check, it’s to help people who have little money, who are with us, at Lidl, Aldi… ».

Its aim is also that the French consume locally, favoring short circuits. The ministers in charge of the file are also thinking regarding the possibility of buying organic products, products with quality labels and also products grown in their region.

Who will be entitled to it?

This food voucher is a very good idea. Now that we know what it will be used for, who will be entitled to it?

The first targets of this food voucher are 18-25 year olds who have very low or no income at all when they go to school. They are not the only ones to be targeted by this aid. Households with children and low incomes.

Julien De Normandie, a close friend of Emmanuel Macron, also declared “Today you have nearly 8 million of our fellow citizens who are struggling to have access to local productions, to quality productions, to our french productions in reality and therefore we must give them a helping hand to help them acquire this”.

This food check will then be aimed at the “lower classes” and “middle classes” as confessed Emmanuel Macron.

Now that we know what it will be used for and who it will go to, find out the amount of the food check.

An amount that turns heads!

After having seen what the food check was going to be used for and who it was going to be addressed to, certain relatives of the President put forward a number and this amount is already turning heads.

According to MP Mounir Mahjoubi, a close friend of the President, the food check should run between €30 and €60 per month and per beneficiary. He also announced “The total budget might then rise from a few hundred million to two billion euros”.

This amount is a very small boost and many opposition MPs cried foul. This amount is derisory in view of the increase in all prices. Some basic necessities have increased so much. Some of the poorest households can no longer afford them.

This amount does not correspond to the difficulties encountered by the French each month to eat properly.
