NFT: Le Parisien is selling pieces of its history with the “Crypto-unes” project

This is a first for a French media and a rare opportunity for its readers. At the start of the next school year, Le Parisien will offer 1000 unique NFTs for sale, associated with several community advantages, created from 100 historical front pages.

Selected by the editorial staff, these first pages highlight some of the most significant current events since 1944, the year of the creation of our newspaper, which was then called “Le Parisien liberated”. From the end of the Second World War to the victory of the Blues in 1998 and 2018, including the coronation of Elizabeth II, the disappearance of Princess Diana or the fire of Notre-Dame.

A low ecological impact

Essentials in the next generation Internet (Web3), les Non-Fungible Token (NFT) or “non-fungible tokens” have the function of a certificate of digital ownership of a virtual work. Their registration on a blockchain guarantees their traceability and establishes trust for the owner, particularly in the event of resale.

Pour this project called “Crypto-unes”Le Parisien has chosen to use the Polygon network, a more energy-efficient blockchain in its operation and whose exchanges respect carbon neutrality.

Become a pioneer of the project

Future buyers will be able to buy some in cryptocurrencies or with a simple bank card. The “mint”, the actual production of these collector’s front pages, will take place in the fall. In the meantime, future buyers can follow the progress of the project on the social network Twitter but also by joining the dedicated Discord group.

The first 500 to arrive will benefit from advantages during the first “drop” as a pioneer of an innovative project in the universe of print media for the general public.
