Despite the information received through many sources yesterday regarding Barcelona’s desire to sell German Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Barcelona will wait a lot before making a decision of this kind.
The option that talks regarding selling the German to finance the process of registering players in the Mercato, may be replaced by the option of reducing the salary, whether for the German or other players.
But the newspaper “Sport”, which is close to the Catalan house, confirms beyond any doubt that Stegen is not for sale, and that the management has full faith in restoring his level next season following a period of fluctuation during the last two years.
This will not affect the club’s position on goalkeeper Inaki Peña, who is reported to be the first alternative to Stegen in Barcelona’s goalkeeper if he leaves this summer, or in the coming years.
Also, this will not be affected by Ter Stegen’s position on reducing his salary, in any case, Barcelona will take a campaign to reduce salaries in the coming period from all players.
Barcelona has to make a huge difference in salaries, but the departure of Ter Stegen is not even on the table as a solution, and with Barcelona announcing the third economic lever, the German seems safe from those variables, while waiting for an additional 100 million euros to be pumped into the club.
