When she stays in hotels, Queen Elizabeth II uses a nickname to go incognito, reveals the “Mirror” on July 26.
Like everyone else, Queen Elizabeth II sometimes also wants to be quiet. And even if it seems complicated for Her Majesty to go unnoticed, when she is on vacation, she opts for simplicity. Goodbye colorful outfits and make way for neutral clothes!
In 2019, tourists were even had in Scotland, as revealed by the “Mirror” at the time. Each year, the queen leaves to relax for several months in her residence at Balmoral Castle. And while she was dressed in a long tartan print skirt, brown shoes, and a scarf tied around her face, Elizabeth II crossed paths with a group of American tourists… Jokingly, the Queen had engaged in conversation.
And the deception had worked: the group saw nothing but fire and did not recognize Her Majesty at all, to whom they had asked outright if she had already crossed paths with the Queen! “Me no, but this police officer, yes”, she had replied, showing her bodyguard, Richard Griffin, in the service of the royal family for 30 years.
Change of outfit, but also of name when Her Majesty goes on vacation or during trips abroad. And to go incognito, Elizabeth II has more than one trick up her sleeve. When she stays in a hotel, the nicknames “Sharon” or “S” are used, reveals the “Mirror”. “The purpose of a nickname is to be memorable. If it can be this playful and memorable, then it makes sense. Then S can simply refer to Sovereign too”, affirmed the historian Hugo Vickers.
All that remains is to listen carefully during a stay at the hotel and check if a Sharon is not hiding in one of the rooms…
