The Tour de France 2022 came to an end following an impressive performance by UAE cycling team star Teddy Bogachar, who has won the title of the last two editions, to secure second place in the Tour general classification following his rival Jonas Vingegard (Jumbo-Visma) won the Tour title, while Geraint Thomas (Ineos- Grenadiers) in third place.
The Emirates team won the French Tour this year in three stages, and won the white shirt, in addition to retaining the yellow jersey for five consecutive days of the tour.
And the Tour of France 2022 had witnessed the withdrawal of a number of Emirates team riders due to illness or injury, including Vigard Stick Liningen and George Bennett, who were infected with the “Covid-19” virus, while Mark Zoller withdrew due to infectious problems, and Rafal Maika suffered a muscle injury.
Despite that, Team Emirates stars put in a solid performance in the race to Paris and are now looking to reclaim the title at Tour de France 2023.
Commenting on the outcome, Tade Bogachar said: “This year’s Tour has been absolutely amazing, especially for the cycling fans who have been enjoying amazing performances throughout the stages of the Tour as we had hoped. My rival Jonas won the Tour title well, as he proved that he was the strongest cyclist, which makes me more determined and determined to return next year to snatch the title from him.”
