In the past hours, social media in Egypt has been buzzing with the news of the death of the most famous “Frisca” candy seller in Alexandria, in a traffic accident.

The young Egyptian Youssef El-Sayed Rady, 32, known as “Achik, the Fresca seller in Egypt,” was killed, on Wednesday, in a car accident on El Alamein Road.

Youssef has been working in the field of selling “Alfreska” for 18 years following the death of his father in Alexandria, and received a grant from the British University in 2016 in business administration and worked in customer service for a while in a mobile company, until he decided to have a different idea to sell “Alfreska”.

While Youssef inherited the profession from his father, and he achieved wide fame, and the smile did not leave his face, and he used to stand at traffic lights wearing elegant clothes, and calling his customers “Friska Fresca”, until he became famous as “Achik Fresca seller in Egypt.”

The “most famous fresca seller in Egypt” died following his car, which he was driving, collided with another car due to excessive speed, on El Alamein Road, while he was heading to the northern coast to sell “fresca”, where he used to move between tourist villages in the summer, to display his goods to customers.

On the other hand, an inspection of the scene of the accident of the death of Youssef, who left a single 3-year-old girl, revealed that his car was severely damaged due to excessive speed and that the technical committee formed from the traffic indicated that the steering wheel was lost in his hand and he failed to control his car, as he was walking on El Alamein Road. And his car contained a large amount of “fresca”, according to local media.

It is noteworthy that friska is a thin round biscuit chip mixed with fresh honey and nuts, and Alexandria is famous for it, especially in the summer.
