The US Federal Reserve raises interest rates again to combat inflation

The US Federal Reserve announced that it raised the main interest rate once more by 75 basis points to a range between 2.25% and 2.50%, to combat inflation.

The US Federal Reserve expected to continue raising the interest rate, and said that “continuous increases” in interest rates would be appropriate.

He added that “inflation remains high, reflecting imbalances related to the pandemic, increases in food and energy prices, and broader price pressures.”
