President of the Transition Council in Chad Mahamat Idriss Déby, met Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso in his capacity as President of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) last Saturday in Oyo.
On his return from a visit to Democratic Republic of Congo, within the framework of the ECCAS summit, the new strong man from chad received a warm welcome in Brazzaville, and a call for the participation of all political and social actors in the inclusive dialogue. “Denis Sassou Nguesso reiterated his call to all Chadian political and social actors to participate in the inclusive national dialogue”indicates the press release sanctioning the meeting between the two statesmen.
President Denis Sassou Nguesso reiterated to his interlocutor the support of the ECCAS to the transition in Chad. He expressed his congratulations to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno for the progress already made by the transitional authorities with a view to the forthcoming organization of an inclusive and peaceful dialogue,” he said. Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, Congolese Minister for International Cooperation and son of the current President of Congo.
Remember, however, that last June, Brazzaville hosted a summit of Heads of State and Government of Central Africa on the security situation in Chad, following the death in April of President Idriss Deby following 30 years in power.
