Ahead of the Fed’s decision, “Wall Street” opens higher, with support from Microsoft and Alphabet

Wall Street’s major indexes opened higher on Wednesday, as upbeat quarterly reports from Microsoft and Alphabet boosted sentiment ahead of an important US interest rate decision later.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.33%, or 103.51 points, to 31,865.05 points at the open.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose 0.77% at the beginning of trading by 30.38 points to 3,951.43 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 1.67% by 193.61 points to 11756.19 points at the opening.
