Summer camp for 40 Lebanese and Arab filmmakers… Cinema for Peace

Beirut Film Society continues its series of cultural and artistic activities, this time with a summer camp and film festival, Cinema for Peace, Cinema for Peace Summer Camp Academy and film festival.

The camp will run from August 8 to 14, 2022, in retrovillage in Mount Lebanon. During which 40 filmmakers residing in Lebanon of different Arab nationalities will be trained on how to use cinema and media to advocate for human issues, combat violence and hate speech.

More than 15 professional personalities of senior mentors, directors, trainers and speakers, who will follow the participants closely to give them the necessary instructions, to be advocates of Cinema for Peace. In order for them to be able to produce short films and awareness films on topics related to peace, these works will travel the world through their dissemination on traditional and digital media, and their presentation in many international festivals as part of special presentations on the role of youth in the responsible film industry.

Films and dramas remain an effective influence in terms of directing public opinion. With this camp, it brings us a step closer to spreading the culture of peace in all societies, from Lebanon to the world.
