Actress Nelly married more than once, the first of which was with director Hossam El Din Mostafa, who directed several films for her, and the marriage was the culmination of a love story, but it soon ended in divorce.
In a previous interview in 1971, “Nelly” explained that Hossam asked for her hand in a nightclub in the center of the Lebanese capital, and gave her an engagement ring, and the price was 1500 pounds, but she asked for a divorce from him following only three months of marriage because of his desire to retire from art, and she told him: “I want to go.”
After Nelly came out of the crisis of her separation from Hossam El Din Mustafa, she fell in love with the composer “Modi Al-Imam”, and they decided to marry, but he also asked her, following a short period of marriage, to stop working and retire from art, so she refused once more and became a “divorced” for the second time.
Nelly then married outside the artistic community, from producer Adel Hosni and then from businessman Khaled Barakat, but the marriage ended in failure as a result of her husbands’ desire to leave art and retire, as Nelly said in her interview with Al-Jazeera magazine in 2005, and denied rumors of her marriage to some celebrities such as Muharram Fouad and Youssef Mansour, with whom I presented several works of art.
