Of the 16 regions of Quebec, 11 of them overflow. On this list, we find in particular the North Shore and Gaspésie, which normally do not have such a high rate.

“It’s another difficult start to the week,” said Dr. Gilbert Boucher, president of the Association of Emergency Medicine Specialists of Quebec. It is difficult for the nursing staff, but also for the population, the emergencies are overcrowded, the patients have difficulty in having access to a bed.

Dr Gilbert says he noted a slight drop in hospital occupancy when the construction furlough was launched, but hospitals filled up quickly.

The hospital staff is at the end of its rope, the new measures put in place by Minister Dubé do not satisfy the employees, nothing is going right at the hospital located in the east of the city.

“It’s shameful for the province of Quebec that for 25 years we’ve been using forced labor with the women who care for us,” explained Denis Cloutier, president of the Union of Care Professionals of Est-de- the Island of Montreal. We will have to solve this problem, and Mr. Dubé is making the problem worse by setting conditions that harm the workers even more.”
