Women’s Euro: England sends four goals to Sweden and reaches the final of its Euro

England are in the final of their Euro. The ‘Three Lionesses’ dominated the semi-final which opposed them to Sweden with a final score of 4-0. If the Swedes often brought danger to the opposing camp, it was the English who were more cynical in front of goal to make the difference.

In front of their home crowd, England opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a very nice pivot shot from Bethany Mead. At the start of the second period, it was Lucy Bronze who doubled the bet with a soft but disorienting whim (48th). Sweden – who fell to the Red Flames in the quarter-finals – then provided themselves with a few opportunities to close the gap but a superb inspiration from the heel ofAlessia Russo put an end to all the hopes of the Scandinavians (68th).

One last shot from Francesca Kirby (76th), with the complicity of the Swedish goalkeeper, allowed England to fix the score at 4-0 and qualify for the final in style.

On Wednesday night, France and Germany will face off in the other semi-final to join England in the final at Wembley.
