When the first starting shot is fired at 9 a.m. on Sunday, triathlon in all its facets can finally be experienced once more at Silbersee. Around 600 triathletes will show their skills at the 27th swb-Silbersee-Triathlon of the LC Hansa Stuhr on the Olympic distance, as team and relay participants, but above all as individual starters, from triathlon beginners to Hawaii starters.

Stuhr – Five start groups are sent into the water within half an hour. Right in the first starting group, 15 men’s teams from the regional league will make sure there’s a lot of waves in the Silbersee on their two swimming laps over a total of 1,500 meters. Ten regional league women’s teams follow at short intervals, as well as regarding the same number of upper league teams as well as the individual starters and the relay teams.

The decision on promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga North was made in Stuhr

After the bear triathlon in Bad Zwischenahn had to be canceled as the intended last competition in the regional league north, the decision on overall victory and promotion to the 2nd federal league north was made in Stuhr.

1.5km swim, 40km bike ride, 10km run

After swimming, the athletes complete the 40-kilometer route known from previous years with a turning point in Ristedt. Back at the Silbersee they change into their running shoes. On three laps over a total of ten kilometers, the spectators have plenty of opportunity to cheer on the athletes.

At the last Silbersee Triathlon in 2019, the fastest individual starter finished in less than 1:54 hours. A look at this year’s starter list promises very fast times at the top once more this time. The favorites should include Bremen’s triathlon team Fabian Günther and Daniel Klosa along with Lübeck’s Simon Müller, who is preparing for his start at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.

The sprint winner of 2019, Lea van Beek (RSC Lüneburg), is registered for the women.

Award ceremony from 1.15 p.m

The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. A few starters from our region can also be expected to make it onto the podium. In their age groups, Tri-Wolf Oliver Sebrantke from LC Hansa Stuhr and Imme Menges from SC Weyhe have a good chance of placing in the front at the Lower Saxony state championships that are taking place at the same time.

Late registrations on the day of the competition are possible

The organizational team of the LC Hansa Stuhr Tri-Wolves, which was newly founded this year, with its around 100 helpers, wants to offer an attractive event by athletes for athletes this time as well. If the participant limit has not yet been reached, there is the possibility for last-minute registrations to register until 8.30 a.m. on the day of the competition.
