Fernandez will not suspend the contract with CSKA

Defender of the Moscow CSKA Mario Fernandes decided not to use the rule of the International Football Federation (FIFA) on the suspension of the contract with the club in order to move to the Brazilian Santos, reports Globe Sports.

According to media reports, Santos was in talks to transfer the player, Fernandez himself was also interested in becoming a Santos player. It was also reported that CSKA did not release the player. Journalist Fabio Aleixo wrote that the football player returned to Brazil to wait for replenishment in the family, and not in order to play for a new team.

In May, Fernandez announced that he would suspend his career at the end of the 2021/22 season. The player’s agent Jorge Machado later revealed that the player would like to take a break until at least 2023.

The agreement of the 31-year-old football player with the army club is calculated until 2024. As part of CSKA, he became a three-time champion of Russia, the owner of the Russian Cup. In September last year, it was announced that Fernandez had completed his performances for the Russian national team.
