[新頭殼newtalk] According to Archyde.com, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told a regular press conference today (26) in response to Taiwan’s recent Hanguang exercise: “Taiwan does not have a president, and Taiwan also delusions of military confrontation. Mainland China, like a man’s arm as a chariot, will eventually fail.”

The National Army’s Hanguang No. 38 live-action exercise entered its second day today. The navy will conduct a joint interception combat live-fire exercise. Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, as the commander-in-chief of the three armed forces, personally boarded the Keelung-class ship for review.

A reporter from Archyde.com asked at a press conference hosted by Zhao Lijian that Taiwan’s “President” Tsai Ing-wen boarded a naval warship for the second time during his six-year rule, and is currently conducting Taiwan’s annual naval exercise.

Zhao Lijian said: “First of all, I want to tell you that there is no president in Taiwan. Please be careful with your wording when you ask questions in the future. I also want to take this opportunity to formally warn the Taiwan authorities that the road to ‘Taiwan independence’ is a dead end, and Taiwan’s delusions are Confronting mainland China militarily is like a manipulative vehicle that will ultimately fail.”

President Tsai Ing-wen said to the soldiers in the official name of Taiwan during the live-fire drill of the joint naval interception operation today: “The wonderful exercise shows the ability and determination of the soldiers of the Republic of China to defend the country. Let us continue to protect our homeland together.”
